HPLIP - Not able to print - HP Printers

NOTE: This troubleshooting is for users using HP printers who already have the latest version of HPLIP software installed on their computer. If you do not have HPLIP and necessary HP plugins installed, please install them first.

ISSUE: User is not able to print.
It seems that the printing job is sent to the printer successfully but any job is done.

Please follow these instructions to solve the issue yourself.

Possible reason 1: CUPS SERVER DISCONNECTED

  1. Go to Menu and in the Search Field write Print.
  2. Click on Print Settings and you will see the following window:

  3. Click on Server → Connect and select the CUPS server: /var/run/cups/cups.sock and click on Connect.

Possible reason 2: PRINTER STATUS DISABLED


  1. Go to the Printer Settings window

  2. Find your printer and double click on it.

  3. Go to the Policies menu at the pop up window and make sure that the Enabled, Accepting jobs and Shared checkboxes are selected.

  4. Go to Settings menu and clic on the Print Test Page button to verify if you can print now.
